𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: In a new Peanuts animated series, Franklin became the first African-American animated character to be part of the Peanuts Gang created by the late great Charles Schultz, finally gets his rightful seat at the table 50 years later. Viewers were livid after watching a 1973 'Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special' where Franklin was sitting by himself away from the other Peanut characters.

Frankin's first appearance in the Peanuts comic strip in 1968. The strip shows Franklin rescuing Charlie Brown's runaway beachball. The image was powerful — a Black child and white child together on a beach at a time when many public beaches were segregated. Schultz decided to create a Black animated character a after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr back on April 4, 1968. #Entertainment #News #BlackPeople
