I’ve been tying up a few loose threads this weekend and one of them was to finish this mini snake plant embroidery. My favorite part about this piece is how the pot turned out; I think the two pink and purple colors really make it pop. I also like the green and yellow of the leaves—what a cool plant.
Now I’m going to dissolve the embroidery template overnight. Once all the black template lines are dissolved, I let it dry flat on a towel for a for a day or two. Then it’s time to put the embroidery in a display hoop. I’m using a small 4 in hoop that’s actually plastic but made to look like wood. I’d prefer real wood—but I haven’t found one I like enough yet.

Next comes the exciting part: cutting away all the excess fabric. I prefer using the pinking shears because it reduces the amount of fabric fray. Then I use a gathering stitch to secure the back and sew my project into the display hoop. I’m liking how my embroidery display board is filling up!
