Here’s a sneak peek at where I run my Ikaria classes! Longevity home cooking out of my Ikaria home!

During my Ikaria cooking school week, which is a lot more than "just" cooking, guests participate in village life, meet locals, and get a firsthand sense of some of the "secrets" to Ikarian longevity.
Ikaria is a Blue Zone, one of the handful of places around the world in which longevity statistics are off the charts high. We cook menu after menu of delicious "longevity" recipes, which are mostly, but not exclusively, plant-based. We discuss and also see in action some of the many factors that have helped Ikarians enjoy life to its fullest for a long, long time.
Some of those factors are social; the social connections are strong and unique, and there is very little alienation among the old, or anyone for that matter, on Ikaria. Community is a seminal value.
But so is the diet and gentle exercises like walking and swimming. Our nature walk, beehive visit, and goat excursion (plus cheesemaking!) are among the highlights. But hear for yourself what some of our guests have to say!
