This is JaMoka's Moka Layte Soap. Coffee soap making using coffee from our local coffee shop. I have a friend who requested I make an all-natural coffee soap. I tried one batch, but no coffee smell came through after curing. From the research I've done, it can be tricky to create a fragrance-free coffee soap that smells like coffee, but it can be done.
This is on the curing rack, and I'll know in a few weeks if it retained any coffee smell this time. I used coffee seed oil to strengthen the scent, and if this doesn't work, I intend on trying coffee essential oil and whole coffee beans on the top. Regardless on the final scent, I'm pleased with the way the soap looks, and it should have some skin-loving properties with the cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and coffee seed oil in this recipe.
