Lana Guernsey’s professional life has been defined by a series of personal earthquakes that have enabled her to pursue her passions professionally in journalism, communications, healthcare, biotechnology and K-12 education, where she has served as a teacher, curriculum developer, administrator and strategic advisor to many of the most innovative schools in Silicon Valley. She currently teaches digital publications and communications at Design Tech High School.
Using the analogy of earthquakes that release energy into the world and cause the ground to move under our feet, Lana Guernsey shares how to identify personal earthquakes — moments of inspiration that change how a person thinks about what is possible. By taking action and articulating a vision to amplify an idea, earthquake moments have the potential to unlock a wave of energy that can change lives, mobilise organisations, and build communities. This talk focuses on how to identify personal earthquakes and what to do if you experience one.
