🧮 Step-by-Step Solution
Let the number be x.
Given,
x leaves remainder 2 when divided by 3 → x = 3m + 2
x leaves remainder 2 when divided by 4 → x = 4n + 2
For both to be true, 3m + 2 = 4n + 2 → 3m = 4n → m = (4n)/3
So, n must be a multiple of 3. Let n = 3k.
Then x = 4(3k) + 2 = 12k + 2

✅ Hence, all such numbers are of the form 12k + 2.
✅ Examples: 2, 14, 26, 38, 50, …

When the same remainder is left by two divisors, the difference between numbers is a common multiple of those divisors.
