Today, I’m getting stuck into a late 80s handmade Rossin. It’s kitted out with a nearly complete Shimano 600 Tricolore groupset—a absolute classic from Shimano.

This isn't a museum-grade "catalogue correct" restoration—it’s an honest, mechanical rescue to get this Italian beauty rolling and shifting properly again.

Tool of the Day: I finally got to use my dedicated fixed-cup tool to safely remove the bottom bracket. It wasn't a total nightmare, but the right tool made it a smooth job.

Uniglide Tech: A closer look at the pre-Hyperglide Shimano Uniglide cassette and how these threaded sprockets differ from modern setups.

Frame Prep: Cleaning up the Columbus Matrix tubing, chasing the threads, and adding internal liners to the BB shell to stop cable-on-metal wear.

The Bar Tape Pivot: After getting scammed by some "short" vintage tape, I found a modern yellow-to-white fade that looks the part and fits the 80s aesthetic IMO... but what would Larry think? 🤔

The Results: Watch those Biopace rings and the 600 Tricolore derailleurs work together to hit all 14 gears perfectly.
