Australian Armour and Artillery Museum outside of Cairns, QLD, Australia hosted AusArmourFest once again, giving visitors an opportunity to see armour in operation on their track. The festival ran from 23-25 August 2024

This footage was shot on Friday 23-Aug-2024 and is of the StuG III Ausf.B assemblies undergoing restoration in the Museum. The StuG III (Sd.Kfz 142) Ausf.B was built on the chassis of the Panzer III Ausf.G & Ausf.H. In October 1938 orders were placed for 30 Ausf.A and 250 Ausf.B variants. After the Ausf.A was observed in battle during the invasion of France, the order for the Ausf.B variant was increased to 300. A further 6 Ausf.A were also made. The two variants were very similar, with the Ausf.B receiving upgraded drive sprockets, transmission, and wider tracks (38cm vs the Ausf.A 36cm tracks). The Ausf.B was made by Alkett over July 1940 - May 1941, who continued with StuG III production throughout the war.
