When it comes to repairing and building boats, it's remarkable how much time, effort and lumber goes into just setting up to do the job. In new boats, it's molds, ribands, and staging. In repairing boats, it's having enough staging so you don't have to waste time moving it around.

In this video, Lou Sauzedde and Ken Boyle take you through the process of building 8' staging horses. They're easy, fast and fairly cheap to build. It's all pretty much circular saw carpentry. Best of all, these staging horses are portable (with a pickup truck), plus they're strong and last for years.
