We have a hawk that has been hanging around our property lately. He is a BIG hawk, and he has been eying the chickens, guineas, and ducks.

So far the hawk has only been getting into our slop pile, but to keep him from killing our chickens we are leaving them in for a few days to break his pattern.

During the morning chores I show some of my yellow lab Bones' training exercises and commands. Having a well trained farm dog is a great thing to have on the homestead, and labs make great farm dogs. Even though they are "bird dogs" they can still be trained to respect your farm and your farms birds.

Bones knows commands such as "sit" "place" and his release command "ok" which help me when doing the morning chores with him.
