Ways you can easily and economically prepare different types of paper to accept oil colors. This give you a whole new array of possibilities for oil painting surfaces.

Note: This might seem overwhelming or confusing but really the overall concept is quite simple. You are using a water based material (PVA, acrylic gel medium, gesso, transparent gesso, water based house paint, acrylic paint, maybe even thinned down Elmers glue) to proved a separation between the paper fibers and the oil paint. Everyone has different resources so you'll just have to experiment with what you have and find what works for you. Even MY methods and materials change and evolve.
