36in TSL Bias 15 x 12.50 vs 15 x12.50, 35 MT/R and 35 BFG KM2
Bottom Line: the TSL’s are 3 inches taller than KM2 or MT/Rs
Vehicle: 1985 CJ7, 4 inch SUA Springs, 2 Inch Body lift weight 4,200 LBS
The 36 TSL Bias weighed 90.8 lbs on an aluminum rim 15x8, and was 36.3 inches tall. The 35 inch MT/R weighed 88.4 lbs on a 15x8 aluminum rim and was 34 inches tall. The 35 inch BFG KM2 weighed 87 lbs on 15x8 steel rims, and was 33.75 inches tall.
The TSL are 3 inches taller and only weighed 3 additional lbs, they are narrower than the 35s. The 35’s tread patch was 11.5 and the TSL is 10.5. The rear axle is the Scout 44, and the diff was 11 inches from the ground with 35s, with the 36s it changed to 12.5.
The tires balanced perfect, going 60 mph no shimmy or shake! I was very surprised after reading the reviews on the internet, I think it’s because they are mounted on new rims. The front tires don’t rub but I had to trim the rear of the back fender wells, the TJ fender flairs make it easy to enlarge.
