"I have made a decision. This is probably the most serious decision in my life. I'm going to take part in the Presidential election. As you remember, the Kremlin swept me and my associates away from the Right Cause party and we failed to do what we wanted to. I'm not used to stopping in the midstream."

STORYLINE:
Several thousand people attended a rally in central Moscow on Monday to show their support for the Russian leadership whose authority has been dented by the December 4th parliamentary election and massive protests against vote fraud.
Kremlin-backed youth movements were among the organisers of the event.
Road construction worker Gennady Malakhov who took part in the rally in front of the Kremlin explained why he supported the ruling United Russia.
"I have clothes, I have shoes. Not like in certain countries where everything's ablaze, in flames, where there are explosions, where there is violence. There is stability here, I live in Russia and I feel simply wonderful. And who's in power? It's United Russia which is giving this to us," he said.
Moscow student Kristina Trophimova believes United Russia, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin are guiding Russia in the right direction.
The organisers denies that Monday's rally was the Kremlin's answer to the mass demonstrations that were held all around Russia on Saturday - the biggest opposition protests seen by the country since the early 1990s.
