Sister Sledge ~ Lost In Music 1979 Disco Purrfection Version

"Lost In Music" was an album track on Sister Sledge's platinum selling "We Are Family" released in 1979. It was released as a 7" and 12" singles but never charted US.

It had a bigger life in the UK where it peaked at #17 in 1979 and then a 1984 remix that included the voices of Duran Duran's Simon LeBon and Andy Taylor went all the way to #4. Then the 1993 remix peaked at #2 UK Dance Singles, and #14 on the UK Singles chart.

In 2006, Grand Theft Auto included the remixed song on their Vice Cities Stories Soundtrack and then "Lost In Music" found its way to being the theme song for the UK TV show "Who Dares, Sings!"

Listening to it again after all these years, I have come to appreciate the sheer musicality of this ode to those who love music to the exclusion of all else. It is one of the lovelier songs and has become something of an underground classic in the US.
