One of the hallmarks of contemporary Italian pop artists is that they welcome the sounds and styles from the rest of the world into their sonic home. On his new ‘IL SOLE DENTRO’ EP, Mida inverts this norm, bringing the sounds of his own home to the 2024 Italian pop and rap landscape. His father is from Milan, where Mida spent his formative years; his mother is from Caracas, Venezuela. The “Ricordarmi di scordarti” singer was born Christian Prestato in the South American capital city. Two decades later, its culture and sound is at the crux of one of this year’s most compelling projects out of Italy. On fan-favorite “QUE PASA” he weaves scenes of a night out with a lover “bella e dannata come Caracas.” And while there’s not a lot of “rap” from a guy who has roots in Italy’s hip-hop scene on this project, his lyrical delivery shines on “FIGHT CLUB” and the EP’s title track. It’s all bolstered by the platinum-selling “ROSSOFUOCO,” a hair-raising power ballad that transcends language. Tickets are selling fast for his club shows this winter. Charming everyone on the popular Italian talent show ‘Amici’ will help with up your country-wide appeal. Pure command on our DSCVR will, too. That’s the Mida touch.

Uno dei tratti distintivi degli artisti pop italiani contemporanei è la loro apertura ai suoni e agli stili provenienti dal resto del mondo. Nel suo nuovo EP ‘IL SOLE DENTRO’, Mida inverte questa norma, portando il suo sound caratteristico nel panorama del pop e rap italiano del 2024. Suo padre è di Milano, dove Mida ha trascorso gli anni formativi; sua madre è di Caracas, Venezuela. Il cantante di “Ricordarmi di scordarti” nasce come Christian Prestato nella capitale sudamericana. Vent'anni dopo, la cultura e il suono di questa città sono al centro di uno dei progetti più importanti del momento in Italia. Nel singolo “QUE PASA”, intreccia scene di una notte fuori con una ragazza “bella e dannata come Caracas”. E mentre non c’è molto “rap” nel progetto, la sua abilità lirica brilla in “FIGHT CLUB” e nella traccia che dà il titolo all’EP. Il tutto è supportato dal disco di platino “ROSSOFUOCO”, una potente ballata che trascende le barriere linguistiche. I biglietti per i suoi concerti nei club di questo inverno sono quasi esauriti, anche merito dell'esperienza nella scuola di 'Amici'. Questo è il tocco di Mida.
