This is a step by step on removing and replacing the palm rest cover and touchpad. In this video I replaced a faulty touchpad with a new working touchpad. Parts could be found on eBay or maybe even Amazon.

Items needed:

Plastic & metal pry tool
ATG double sided transfer tape
New touchpad
New palm rest (only if you want to replace it)
