SLEDGE HOCKEY DRILLS AND SKILLS | BODY CHECKING

Описание к видео SLEDGE HOCKEY DRILLS AND SKILLS | BODY CHECKING

A lot of people have been asking for some advice on throwing a bodycheck, or receiving one.

There’s both bodychecks along the boards to consider, as well as in the open ice. For today we’re going to address hitting (or getting hit) along the boards.

Three things to consider are:

- Think about how you can avoid an injury during the check
- Stay strong and power through the check
- Learn how to use the bodycheck to your advantage

By far one of the biggest things to ask yourself is “How far out from the boards am I?”. In most cases, being tight against the boards will help you win the battle. You stay more stable and can power through, and let the player brush off you. It also offers a great opportunity for puck protection if you can keep it under you.

As I wrap up this video… “Become the killer, awesome, body checking sledge hockey player!”
