C'est une étape cruciale pour un niveau de finition parfait.
Bien sûr les voiliers OVNI et Cigale pourraient se contenter de rester en aluminium brut. Cela est possible mais le rendu final ne serait pas le même ! La minutie du travail réside dans chaque étape : nettoyage complet du bateau en sortie de chaudronnerie - masquage de certaines zones - application d'une première couche de primaire époxy - tous les points de soudure comme au niveau des mains-courantes ou des pieds de chandelier sont enduits puis poncés pour appliquer une autre couche de primaire époxy.
Les zones antidérapantes sont peintes au rouleau laqueur puis saupoudrées de billes de verre et finalisées par un agent matant.
Se sont au total 9 couches de peinture appliquées et 4 semaines entières passées en cabine de peinture avant de rejoindre l'atelier de montage.

Of course, OVNI and Cigale yachts could be content to remain in raw aluminium. This is possible, but the final finish would not be the same!
The meticulousness of the work lies in each step : complete cleaning of the boat after metalwork - masking up some areas - application of a first coat of epoxy primer - all welding points such as handrails, stanchion feet etc. are coated and sanded to apply a second layer of epoxy primer.
The non-slip areas are painted by a lacquer roller followed by a sprinkling of glass microbeads and a matting agent for the finishing.
The boat has therefore spent 4 full weeks in the paint booth, receiving a total of 9 coats of paint, before moving on to the assembly workshop.
