Today I am reviewing the WeatherTech DigitalFit Floor liner. Now Weather Tech has two types of floor mats- The All-Weather Floor mats and the digitalfit floor liners, which seem to be the most popular. I am going to be reviewing the digital fit floor liners which are supposed offer a custom, drop-in fit for any vehicle. Now I purchased both the front and rear set for my lexus es 350, but you do have the option of buying just the front or rear set separately. There is also a trunk liner available, in case you want to protect the carpet in your trunk. I went the Tan color to somewhat match my upholstery, but there are other colors available, depending on your car. More about the colors in a minute.Installation on my car was actually pretty simple. I removed my old floor liner and the lexus mats and then just popped the Weathertechs into place. In the front, the retainer holes line up with your car’s existing retainer hooks. And WeatherTech does provide replacement hooks, in case the ones in your car are broken. In the back, Weathertechs just popped right into place and the installation took less than two minutes. You’ll find that WeatherTech mats are several times more expensive than budget floor liners. So you’re probably wondering, why would I buy these when I could just use my car’s regular floor mats and a cheap floor liner like this one. Well there are a few reasons why these Weathertechs make sense. For starters, they’re customized for your specific car and fit very neatly into the floor wells, both in the front and back, and cover almost all of your carpeting. It also sits pretty snug and doesn’t move around when you step in and out of the vehicle. And the fact that it covers almost all the carpeting is fantastic, especially for cars that have lighter carpeting that gets dirty very quickly. And I love the fact that it covers that it also covers the center tunnel carpeting in the back. This is usually a place that remains exposed and gets dirty over time. And since these floor liners are molded from this hard plastic, and has these strips and channels built-in, it traps all the dirt and water and makes it easier to get that stuff out of the car. The liners aren’t very thick, but they seem pretty sturdy and won’t warp or move around much. I haven’t tried washing these, but I should think they’re pretty easy to clean. And not that it’s a big deal in such a global world, but these are proudly made right here in the USA. And just a note about the color, the Tan is slightly darker than most lighter colored upholstery. I didn’t really think it was a huge deal and it didn’t seem out of place. But that’s of course a matter of perspective. So are these WeatherTech Floor Liners worth the money. Absolutely! I was a bit wary when I bought these, as they really are much more expensive than regular floor liners. But after installing them and using them for a week, I have to say I am really impressed. The mats fit perfectly without any trimming or adjustments, are designed well and protect the floor carpeting on your vehicle. I guess the way to think of these Weathertech liners is as an investment to protect the re-sale value of your vehicle. So if you’re planning to sell/trade in your vehicle some day, and you end up making $200 dollars more because your car’s carpets are clean, the liners have paid for themselves.
