This video is about Day 9 of our South Korea travel series when we started our jeju round the island road journey and visited Hyeopjae Beach, O’Sulloc Tea Museum, Sanbangsan and Songaksan mountains.
Our second day on the Jeju island started with mouth-watering noodles at Sonai Noodles before we continued our driving journey to Jeju Osulloc Tea Museum and Innisfree Jeju House for a brief visit. The whole journey takes an approximate 1-hour drive from Jeju city, and we decided to stop by a few beaches on the way.
Our first stop was Hyeopjae Beach. Visiting Hyeopjae Beach in Jeju will be one of the highlights of your trip on the island. It is a place with an incredible ecosystem because the nature on this coastal site has remained untouched.
To reach Hyeopjae from Jeju Airport, take the bus 202 directly to the beach. The journey takes 1h20 approximately, or you can drive yourself.

Our next stop is the famous O’Sulloc Tea Museum, which is a place that should not be missed for tea lovers. Follow the small path beside the museum will leading to Innisfree Jeju House. Innisfree is a Korean company selling skincare products made from natural ingredients in Jeju. There is another cafe in Innisfree too if you don’t want to wait too long at O’Sulloc café. The crowd is much less at Innisfree café. You may also try their soap-making workshop at Innisfree Jeju!

Next, we ate lunch at a random fish and chips restaurant before heading to
Sanbangsan Mountain, which is the result of violent volcanic activity some 700,000 to 800,000 years ago and is, in fact, a huge body of lava. As its name ‘sanbang’ – literally meaning ‘a cave inside a mountain’ – suggests, this mountain contains a cave, which is located about 150m above sea level and has a spectacular view out over the ocean. Walk along the stone-steps between the two temples, and you will find the Sanbanggulsa Grotto.
How To Get To Sanbang

Next, we drove for less than 30 minutes to Songaksan.
Hiking in Songaksan was one of our favourite things to do in Jeju. The trail goes around the volcanic mountain alongside the coast, making it a beautiful spot to admire the gorgeous nature that Jeju has to offer. Songkasan Mountain has two major craters at the highest peak and other small craters that were formed by the process of explosions within the bigger crater. That’s the reason Koreans call Songaksan the 99 peaks. You can count 99 peaks formed by volcanic activities. The main peak rises 104 meters above sea level. There is a crater about 500 meters in diameter and 80 meters in depth, with some volcanic ash still remaining inside
Address: Songakgwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do / 제주특별자치도 서귀포시 대정읍 송악관광로 (상모리)
How to Get there
By bus: From Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal take bus 755 to Moseul and then local bus 950 or 951 to Sanisu-dong, or from Moseul catch a taxi (about 10 minutes) to Songaksan.
