The new data center in Cottbus for the PBit systems was built in 2021 according to the most modern and environmentally friendly criteria and planned according to the European standard DIN EN 50600, availability class III.

It has a fully redundant uninterruptible power supply.

The emergency power system guarantees high availability.

The energy supply is supported with self-generated electricity by 500 m² solar surface on the roof and the facade.

The modern server infrastructures are housed in two different fire compartments.
All technical and air-conditioning rooms are equipped with a state-of-the-art early fire detection system.

In the event of an air change due to aerosols in the room, the system immediately alerts the rescue center.

If a fire breaks out, the company's own Novec 1230 extinguishing system is used.
Using Novec gas, the fully automated system extinguishes the source of the fire without water or residue.

Further safety precautions ensure the protection of data in the data center.
In addition to comprehensive camera surveillance inside and outside the building, the multi-level security concept includes a sophisticated access control system, an intrusion alarm system and temperature and humidity monitoring.

In addition, the specifications of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) were taken into account during planning and implementation.
Modern high-performance IT generates considerable waste heat during operation, which is why optimum efficient cooling must be ensured.

A combination of direct outside air (up to 24 °C) by means of free cooling and mechanical cooling supply from an outside temperature of 26 °C enables air conditioning in the constantly energy-efficient range.

The chillers cool without CFC refrigerants, but with the natural refrigerant water, thus enabling climate-neutral CO2 emission-free cooling.

In all considerations for efficient and green operation of the data center, the focus is on permanent availability of data.
