HEY! this is a collaboration!!! this video could not be possible without the aid of two of my good friends, ‪@puddingjump‬ and ‪@GTheadGina‬. sol did frimomen's part, and gina did the illustration. go subscribe to both of them, they're super cool!!!

the choice to make the ending a lot more subdued than in the original was half artistic and half due to my own skill level with the DAW i use. be prepared, i'm about to WAY overthink the plotline of a series of zelda CDI YTPMVs.

i think the motif of miku's part only having piano on it lends itself to the idea that now that the curse is lifted, what's done is done, it feels so bad, what once was happy now is sad and all that, morshu is alone. link is already long gone by the time morshu wakes up, and harkinian's lifeless body is the only thing lying there with him. even if he did go back to link and try to figure out what to do there, zelda would surely exile him (or worse) for the murder of her father before he would get the chance to even talk to the young hero, provided that link would even want to talk to him at all after something like that. on the other hand, frimomen's parts having a heavier emphasis on the big orchestral swell is kinda something i borrowed from epic the musical. the only ones who have backing vocals are the gods, and whenever mortals have backing vocals, it's because diegetically a whole bunch of other mortals are singing along with them. harkinian's gone. he's not of this world anymore. his words from beyond the grave echo through morshu's head as his body reaches its final resting place. there are no hard feelings anymore, there's no reason for there to be. he understands now that it wasn't morshu's fault. desperation leads to vulnerability, vulnerability to taking risks that one wouldn't normally take. like picking up a mysterious phone that possesses the person holding the receiver. now that the curse is lifted, what's done is done. nothing can be done about it except move forward. those who are left behind will take the place of those who fell and continue helping those who cannot help themselves. as morshu sails off over the horizon, his new goal is to not only right the wrongs he may have caused while under the spell, but also to ensure no one else is cursed the same way he was ever again. does ganon have something to do with it? probably. wouldn't be a bad idea to defeat him anyway. i guess we'll have to find out when the next video comes out.

anyway to finish off by singing my praises of this series some more, i think i want a stage production of this somehow, even for a small production like a convention or something. i think it'd be fun. zelda CDI the musical? that'd go crazy. it's part of the reason i tuned miku in the way that i did. i really liked the melancholic but still musical-theater-ish tone of rem's japanese actress in the death note musical, and i wanted to kinda replicate that on some level.
