BROUWERIJ 'T IJ (Amsterdam) • The popular Dutch brewery with windmill taproom • Tasty Tales

Brouwerij 't IJ and the iconic windmill are in the Top 5 Amsterdam breweries of many a beerlover. Amsterdam might have some major and well known beer producers, but craft brewery Brouwerij ’t IJ, founded in the mid-80s, was one of the first to brew well-crafted Dutch beers in Belgian style. Founder Kasper Peterson, a musician who wrote a few chart-topping songs, started the Dutch brewery in 1985 in a former municipal bath house at Funenkade 7. The windmill taproom and a few of the brew rooms are still located here.
