How we think we think | Graeme Revell | TEDxWaiheke

Описание к видео How we think we think | Graeme Revell | TEDxWaiheke

Graeme Revell manipulates us for a living. As a music producer for film and TV, he uses sound and music to affect our perceived reality for the sake of entertainment. His thought-provoking talk centres on the images that are engrained in our brains and their effect on our perceived reality.

One of New Zealand’s most successful musical exports, Graeme can claim more Hollywood film credits than many well known actors. His compositions provide the atmospheric context to a whole generation of movies – ranging from cult comic strips to adventure fantasies and horror films.
His ongoing acoustic experimentation first hit the silver screen in Dead Calm – the award-winning Australian film that launched Nicole Kidman’s career. Then came a move to the US where he became one of Hollywood’s most sought after composers writing more than 100 major film soundtracks, TV series and video games, including Strange Days, Blow, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Saint, From Dusk till Dawn, Daredevil or more recently Gotham.
Graeme continues to reinvent himself, wearing his new hat as CEO of a start-up eCommerce venture.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
