Key projects of Anpan Expressway

The Gu Niuhe Grand Bridge — a world-class mega-project on the Anshun–Panzhou Expressway in Guizhou Province, China — is rising across one of Asia’s deepest and most breathtaking canyons. This super-arch bridge stretches 881.8 meters long with a 520 meter steel box truss main arch, ranking second in the world for bridges of its type. The deck stands approximately 400 meters above the valley floor, showcasing the latest breakthroughs in intelligent cable hoisting and no-support arch construction technology.

Construction began in December 2023, when the arch abutment pit was excavated. By March 2024, the first T-beam was poured, followed by the successful catwalk installation and the first precast T-beam erection in April.
Through 2024 and 2025, the project achieved major milestones:

Cable tower installation and arch ring assembly (December 2024)

Boundary piers capped on both banks (Jan–May 2025)

Cable hoisting system tested (June 10, 2025)

Main arch construction began (June 14, 2025)

First segment hoisted with millimeter-level precision, each weighing up to 283.3 tons.


By August 2025, the project surpassed 51% completion, and by October 2025, more than 70% of the main arch segments were already hoisted — marking a record-breaking pace for a high-altitude, no-scaffold bridge build.

🌉 This footage captures the mid-construction phase, with red steel arch segments suspended over the emerald valley — an epic view that reveals human engineering at its most daring and beautiful.

👷‍♂️ Built by Guizhou Bridge Group, the Guniu River Bridge is part of the Anpan Expressway, connecting Anshun and Panzhou and boosting the region’s transportation, tourism, and economy. When complete, it will stand among the most spectacular modern arch bridges on Earth.
