21st AGM of SONSIK

The Society of Nepalese Students in Korea (SONSIK) successfully concluded its 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Jeonbuk National University on the 17th and 18th of August, 2024. The two-day event featured a series of programs aimed at fostering cultural exchange, academic excellence, and leadership within the Nepalese student community in Korea. The event was graced by Chief guest Prof. Dr. Hem Raj Pant, Vice-Chancellor of Far Western University, Nepal and distinguished guests including Mrs. Park Seul Ki, the Manager of International Affairs at Jeonbuk National University, past presidents of SONSIK, and prominent members of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Korea.

Day One: Welcoming and Reports
The 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society of Nepalese Students in Korea (SONSIK) commenced on the 17th of August, 2024, at Jeonbuk National University with a grand opening ceremony and distribution of USB from NIIED. The day began with a chairing ceremony for all the distinguished guests, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony jointly led by former SONSIK President Mr. Meghanath Poudel and Mrs. Park Seul-Ki, Manager of International Affairs at Jeonbuk National University. This marked the official start of the event, setting the tone for two days of discussions, reports, and cultural festivities. Event Coordinator Mr. Sourav Chandra delivered a warm welcome speech, highlighting the significance of the AGM as a platform for unity and cultural exchange among Nepalese students in Korea. His address was followed by speeches from distinguished guests, who praised SONSIK's efforts in fostering community and leadership within the Nepalese diaspora. Adding to the vibrancy of the day, the event featured a series of cultural dance performances that showcased the rich cultural diversity of Nepal. The SONSIK Idol competition was also held, celebrating the musical talents within the community. The day concluded with a Cultural Fashion Show, where participants displayed traditional Nepali attire, further emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and pride within the largest platform for Nepalese students in Korea.

Day Two: Election of the 21st Executive Committee
The first day of the AGM focused on welcoming attendees and presenting reports from the outgoing 20th Executive Committee (EC) of SONSIK. Reports were delivered by the President, Secretary, and Treasurer, providing a comprehensive overview of the past year's achievements, challenges, and financial standing. The day also featured a constitution amendment procedure
led by Dr. Indira Tiwari, Prof. Dr. Madhu Sudhan Aateraya, Mr. Manish Pandey, Mr. Rajan Thapa and Ms. Gayatri Thapa Magar, aimed at updating SONSIK's governing documents to better reflect the evolving needs of its members. The highlight of the second day was the election of the new Executive Committee for the 21st term of SONSIK. The election process was overseen by a dedicated committee led by Mr. Prakash Dhamala, Dr. Sangita Karki, and Dr. Prabesh Poudel. The newly elected members of the 21st EC are as follows:
