Duck farming is on the high now in Kenya and East Africa, it’s becoming more and more popular in Africa. You can raise ducks for either meat or eggs. Duck farming is profitable Business in the world. Anyone can start duck farming at their back garden of farm.

There are various benefits of beginning a duck farming venture. The eggs are bigger and more nutritious than chicken eggs. Duck Meat and Eggs also fetch more money at the market as are sold to mainly Chinese and high end restaurants and hotels.

Duck farming is less expensive compared to chicken or other birds, they only need a simple structure; secure from predators. They are hardier as they only need 2 weeks of brooding and also are very high disease resistant.

We have been farming ducks in Kenya since early 2014 and they are doing very well, although it seems they favor colder regions, like Central Kenya or Uganda. If you have a pond or a river near your farm, they you are perfectly placed to read ducks. They also do very well in Slams, like Kibra and Mukuru kwa Njenga/Ruben as they love scavenging for leftover food in the dirty water.
