My Warsaw - Sapir Librowski-Sher

Описание к видео My Warsaw - Sapir Librowski-Sher

Meet Sapir Librowski-Sher, an Israeli with Polish roots who has been living in Warsaw for more than four years, and works as a Hebrew teacher.
Sapir's favourite area in Warsaw is Muranów, a neighbourhood with a long Jewish culture history, but also beautiful gardens, various cultural institutions, street art and cozy cafes.
We walked through a part of this area including:
- Kino Muranów - a small boutique cinema which is popular for film festivals, like "Jewish Motifs Festival" that was organized regularly until the pandemic.
- Ogród Krasińskich - a beautiful garden with a palace, a lake and a few playgrounds for kids. It used to be often visited by the Jewish community and even by famous Jewish writers before the 2nd world war, and during the war it was the border of the Jewish ghetto, as we can still see today some bullet marks on the main gate at the entrance to the park.
- Skwer Tekli Bądarzewskiej - a green enclave located between the walls of a round building in 13 Andersa Street, an interesting example of modernist architecture. Nowadays, it houses a number of NGOs - for released prisoners, for lonely elderies, The Center of Yiddish Culture, Stacja Muranów, which is responsible e.g for creating murals in the area, and more.
- POLIN Museum (Museum of the History of Polish Jews) with Leśmian's Meadow in the back of the building - a nice place to relax and enjoy the intimate atmosphere, which also holds cultural outdoor events organized regularly.
- Radiotelewizja Cafe/Bookstore - a unique coffee-house which looks like the typical ones which were popular in Poland in the 60's, where you can also buy books from a variety of fields, including Jewish history.
