OCTA 3053 - 1980 GMC RTS T8H203 ( RETIRED )

As the saying goes - "Only The Strong Survive". Well, these RTSs were in the OCTA fleet for 28 years ( 1980 - 2/2008 ). I personally loved driving these. It was a sad site to see them go. However, a few non-profit & charter organization have saved a few of these buses. Anywho, the photos and recording are by me. The bus in question is # 3053 Not In Service on a Deadhead trip. It has a DD 6V92TA DDEC IV reliabilt engine. Orginally these buses had Detroit Diesel 8V71 engines & were slopeback. Many modifications were made to these buses...Including sliding windows, improved HVAC system, rooftop exhaust system, telma retarder, and Allen Bradley Starting system.
