Willie G Davidson traveled to Sturgis in 1978 & took particular notice of the many 1% outlaw-styled SuperGlides at the rally. With this in mind, he designed the blacked-out, limited edition Sturgis FXB model for release in 1981. Trimmed in orange, with longer front forks, the Sturgis was the test bed for future belt-driven models. Phil Ross from SuperMaxx sold the Kevlar belt technology to Harley-Davidson. Only 1,470 were built, most were customized, but this survivor remains locked in 1980. A few tricks to getting it back on the boulevard.
