La Trobe University, established in 1964, is a public research university based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its main campus is located in the suburb of Bundoora. La Trobe Institute For Molecular Science was established in 2009.
It contains research groups in life sciences (biochemistry and genetics), physical sciences (chemistry and physics), and applied sciences (pharmacy) and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in these areas through the School of Molecular Sciences.
Health Sciences courses provide a range of health degrees in physiotherapy, nursing, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and dental science.
The Biological Sciences degree at La Trobe provides foundational skills in biology, chemistry, ecology, and biodiversity, and explores the impacts of infection, epidemics, and pandemics. Students can then customize the course with a major of choices including biochemistry, botany, ecology, genetics, human physiological sciences, microbiology, or zoology.
This Reid Building is home to the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Microbiology.
There are several accommodation options for students at La Trobe University including Glenn College, North and South Apartments, Chisholm College, and Menzies College.
Glenn College is La Trobe’s most historic residence and is home to 347 students with the majority of residents being undergraduates. Residents of the college are known as "Glennies".
North and South Apartments is a state-of-the-art building that boasts a student-focused design and can accommodate 624 students.
La Trobe Indoor Sports Centre provides sports facilities to students, staff, and members of the public. It has a gym, swimming pool, functional training zone, yoga and pilates studios, multi-purpose sporting courts, and rock climbing.
