INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup oats
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup mashed ripe banana, about 3 medium bananas
1 large egg
¼ cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons sliced almonds
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350F, line an 8 x 8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oath oatmeal mix, and baking powder.
In another large bowl, mash the banana. Add the egg, milk, maple syrup and vanilla and whisk to combine.
Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle the almonds and sugar on top and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden on the outside and firm in the center.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before slicing into 16 bars.
