Dust mopping is essential to removing soil, dust and other debris from floors to prep them for wet mopping. This process should be done often depending on the foot traffic in your facility.
Step One: Choose a Dust Mop
Select a dust mop that is about half the width of the work area. For example, if the aisles of your retail store are six feet wide, choose a 36 inch mop to clean half the aisle in one pass while allowing customers to pass by.
Step Two: Dust Mop the Area
Push the mop close to the area's edges, moving debris into a neat pile in front of the mop. Overlap each pass by six inches, working from the outer perimeter to the center.
Step Three: Remove Dirt and Debris
Use a dust pan or stiff broom to sweep up debris, then empty it into a trash container.
