You can play around with different ball sizes and densities for this. If you do not have access to balls try a small cushion, pillow, rolled-up towel, etc. Get creative! You can use any chair, couch, countertop, or other surfaces. Just realize that if you are new to this you may want to start with a softer ball or surface… or both. ⁣

If you aren’t familiar with this area, get familiar. Take your clothes off if you want -- wash your hands and touch the area. Take note of different sensations and get to know your anatomy. If you’ve never actually looked at the area grab a small mirror and take a look. It’s YOUR body. Get to know it and learn new ways to care for it. With clothing on, sit on a ball. Avoid the bony areas and play with breathing and the amount of pressure you apply to the ball. ⁣

Visualize your tissues expanding and allowing the ball to sink into you. You can rock back and forth slowly and gently, paying attention to how the areas feel. Move the ball slightly and repeat. If this is painful back off on the intensity. You are trying to calm and relax your body, not tense up and guard. Do this as often as necessary for as long as you’d like. It feels great! ⁣
