A 3D model of a cast iron disc brake was created in SolidWorks. ANSYS software then performed a steady-state thermal analysis. Heat flux on the cast iron pad simulated braking, while forced convection mimicked airflow across the disc and pads. This analysis visualized heat transfer and temperature distribution within the brake system.

The Analysis have following uses:
1. It helps engineers predict how the brake system will perform under different braking conditions.
2. This analysis allows engineers to optimize the design of the disc brake.
3. By identifying areas prone to excessive heat build-up, engineers can ensure the brake system operates safely within material limitations.
4. Thermal analysis can be used to evaluate new materials for disc brakes.
