The CAT Job Site Machine Set series were purchased at Costco and maybe it will seem like a much better deal compared to Thomas & Friends Trackmaster, Kinetic Sand & Hot Wheels Shark Attack. Anyway as long as children are having fun, there is no price you can put on that. At least the Play Doh's Diggin Rigs Trash Tossin Rowdy works better with Kinetic Sand Vs Play Doh.

Thomas & Friends TrackMaster Toy Trains
The TrackMaster 2 motorized Thomas & Friends toy trains are semi-compatible with classic TrackMaster the older TOMY trains. The track is different and not compatible with older track systems (new playsets come with track adaptors). The new TrackMaster engines can get hooked up on the older classic TrackMaster & TOMY Blue styled track (especially the flexi-track). TrackMaster 2 trains don't operate as free-wheeling vehicles like classic TrackMaster and TOMY, but do use a standard core design which uses the same AAA double battery sets for power. It's claimed the new TrackMaster engines are faster and can climb steeper inclines, but this does not mean the new engines are more powerful. The couplers are hook-and-loop, and the rolling stock has been slightly downsized Vs the classic TrackMaster and TOMY train designs.
