The oil palm research institute has the mandate to research into the production of oil palm, coconut palm, date palm, Raphia (Raffia) palm and shea tree, In order to improve yield amongst other things. While it has done this appreciably well, it has also developed machines to aid processing of these crops thereby adding value. These machines and how they are used for value addition is our focus on this episode of Transforming Agriculture in Nigeria. I am Gabriel Ojile welcoming you to another edition of the programme which highlights the potentials of the Agricultural sector and the efforts of the federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development and other agencies in maximizing these potentials.
