Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Law (But Were Afraid to Ask)

9th International Conference of PhD Students and Young Researchers “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Law (But Were Afraid to Ask)” will take place in Vilnius and online on the 2nd-3rd of June 2022.
Raising difficult questions is more relevant than ever as the law confronts the problems posed by the 21st century. This is confirmed, among other things, by Russia's recent military aggression against Ukraine. The military invasion, which ignores any standards of international law, inevitably raises various questions. Is international law still effective? Is the rule of law capable of stopping an aggressor? Can the law prevent such conflicts in the future? Moreover, unfortunately, the problems facing the law are not limited to the latter issues. Is the law up to the challenges posed by the climate change? How has the COVID-19 pandemic influenced law systems? Can the principles of private and public law survive the IT revolution?
Accordingly, this year’s Conference is aimed at addressing, analysing and debating the latter and other sometimes albeit uncomfortable but nevertheless very important legal questions.
The conference will take place in hybrid form: at Vilnius University Faculty of Law and also broadcasted on Vilnius University Faculty of Law Facebook and Youtube pages.
