Adding an external microphone to the Canon Rebel T7 Camera

I bought the Canon Rebel T7 camera only to discover it does not support an external microphone. I found a video about adding an external microphone to the Rebel T1 and explored doing the same thing for the T7. It turns out the process and hardware is very similar between the T7 and T1. I'm posting this video to show any differences and caveats. Hopefully it helps you out if you're in a similar situation!
