Croatia 2024 | 5 Cities in 9 Nights

Here's a recap from our 5 city, 9 night trip to Croatia. What an incredible country, with the views, food, and people being the main highlight.

Things to know:
Croatia believes in giving you an uninterrupted dining experience. In the US, we attribute good service to the speed in which we receive our meals/drinks. Here, you will notice that you will have to ask the server for another drink or to have the bill. They don't force you out or continue checking on you. We found this to be true at nearly every restaurant.

Book ferries through https://www.jadrolinija.hr/en directly. You will see various options on Google that say you can get a ferry ticket, but it usually a third party. We booked directly and it cost less and we had instant tickets via email.

Make sure to charter a boat if you're on the coast. We used Dubrovnik Coastal Beauty, twice! We did the Elaphiti tour both times and had the captains take us to more secluded places to swim, snorkel, and enjoy the crystal clear water. For the price (~$300 for 4 people before tip), you cannot get a better view of what these coastal cities have to offer.

Logistics:
We flew into Zagreb, traveled via rental car to Rovinj, then on to Split. We dropped off the car in Split when we arrived and caught a ferry (Jadrolinija) to Hvar for a night. We then went back to Split to grab another rental car before heading to Dubrovnik.

We stayed in Airbnb's the entire time with the exception of Hvar, where we stayed at Hotel Park Hvar. Parking can be expensive, so we dropped the car off in between some of the trips to save ~$50/night.
