Ann Mulqueen was a superstar during the ballad boom of the 1960's. She was in demand all over Ireland singing in dance halls with the likes of the Dubliners and the Clancy brothers.

Born into a large family in Castleconnell, Co. Limerick, Ann learned a large body of songs from her grandmother. By the age of 15 Ann had been spotted and given a professional contract to tour with the Gallowglass Céilí Band.

She married and moved to the An Rinn gaeltacht in Co. Waterford where she learned gaelic songs and raised a famous family of sean nós singers.


One of TG4's most acclaimed music programme's - 'Sé Mo Laoch is back for an 8th series. Each programme will feature the musical story of a hero of irish Traditional Music.
