Overture to the Nutcracker Suite of Tchaikovsky performed by the Scottsdale Philharmonic under the direction of Dr. Martin Province. When Tchaikovsky first premiered the Nutcracker it was a double permier with his opera Lolanta on December 18th, 1892. I personally can;t imagine sitting that long for a concert. This undoubtedly had an impact on how it was received by the audience.
