It is widely believed that Colin Montgomerie is one of the greatest golfers to not win a major championship - However, he has provided some all-time classic moments during Open Championship tournaments.

In 2005 he only missed out on the Claret Jug thanks to a world-class performance by Tiger Woods in which the American won by 5 strokes.

Monty played in 22 Open Championship events. He made his debut in 1990 and played his final major tournament in 2016.
