The best time to remove a mother raccoon is before the babies are born.

Once they are born, a successful removal means removing the babies as well.

If they are accessible, they can be gathered by hand. If they are not, they need to be able to leave the den on their own before removing the mother. This comes down to a timing issue.

They usually travel as a group. One of the three was lagging behind the other two and only made it into the trap partially before the doors went down. It went back inside and will have to be captured tomorrow.
