I Discovered the REAL North Island 🇳🇿 | Waitangi, Paihia & Bay of Islands 4K!

I joined up with Mum and went on a road trip around New Zealand’s phenomenal North Island (Te Ika-A-Maui). We started in the capital, Auckland, and drove north to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.

The highlight was definitely the tour of Waitangi Treaty Grounds. It’s a protected site where the signing of the first accord between the British Crown and the Maori people occurred in 1840. It was fascinating to learn about the history and experience a traditional greeting.

I changed my mind on a thing or two as an Aussie. New Zealand has done many things right & while more can certainly be done, it opened my mind. New Zealand is a beautiful country & culture.
