CAS can manage upto 7,00000 devices in sccm hirarchy
CAS required SQL Server database
CAS noT support client assignment
CAS can only be install on windows server

Primary Site manage upto 150000 devices
Primary Site Manages clients in well-connected networks
Primary Site required SQL server database
Primary Site replicates their data to a central administration site if part of a hierarchy

Primary Site only be install on window server
