Kirstie McCallum was one of five Canadian artists commissioned by Engage with Nature-Based Solutions in 2023. Commissioned artists produced pieces addressing nature-based solutions and climate change and presented them to their communities in Summer 2023.

Engage with Nature-Based Solutions is a Canadian initiative working to support communities that apply nature-based solutions to their local lands and waters. The "Local by Nature" series is a series of short videos demonstrating nature-based solutions in-situ in local communities.

We acknowledge and take inspiration from Indigenous peoples, whose cultures and traditions support healthy ecosystems and the interconnection and importance of all living things.

Engage with NBS collaborates with communities, collects and curates resources, produces education modules, facilitates storytelling, and provides technical equipment (for monitoring and testing in the field). All of our work supports access, engagement, and education, and illustrates the impact and benefits of nature-based solutions.
