In this webinar, Professor Sir Peter Gluckman, Chief Scientific Officer at A*STAR’s Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS), looks at the epidemiological and experimental basis of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) and how despite being well-established, its application to public health policy has been extraordinarily limited. Professor Sir Peter discusses the reasons for this as it informs much about both the practice of science and the evidence to policy/political nexus. He also shares how the GUSTO, S-PRESTO and MAMS studies are designed to reduce these barriers and why the challenge of context-specific, scalable and appropriate remedies still remain.
