Protesters gathered outside the Metropolitan Opera in New York City Monday
to protest the opening night of John Adams' "The Death of Klinghoffer,"
claiming the show glorifies "terrorism." Among the protesters was former
New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

"The Death of Klinghoffer" is an operatic retelling of the murder of Leon
Klinghoffer, a wheelchair bound American-Jewish passenger killed by members
of the Palestine Liberation Front during the Achille Lauro cruise ship
hijacking in 1985. The opera first premiered in Brussels in 1991, and has
also played at various European cities and in Brooklyn.
