A Cleveland man convicted of sexually assaulting six women was sentenced to life in prison with the first eligibility for parole after 132 years, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced Tuesday.

Michael Mann, 53, was found guilty earlier this month of multiple charges, including eight counts of rape, five counts of kidnapping, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Judge David Matia also found Mann guilty of the Sexually Violent Predator Specification, which contributed to the severity of the sentence.

“Michael Mann is the definition of a dangerous serial predator — he used fake names, false promises, and force to carry out his string of sexual assaults,” O’Malley said in a statement. “Thankfully, this demon will now spend the rest of his life behind bars, where he can no longer harm anyone.”

Between May 2021 and March 2023, Mann used aliases such as “Rick,” “Rico,” “Ricardo,” and “R” to lure women to hotels in Cleveland under the guise of offering them high-paying jobs as servers at private events or poker games. He targeted women through online ads, offering $2,000 or more for the work. Victims traveled from cities including Akron and Canton to meet him.
